Student Reaction Letter To His Peers

We at Seton Hall Prep are proud to partner with Victory Road Leadership Development Group to give our students an avenue to better themselves, stay disciplined, grow, and persevere through these unchartered times.

We are overjoyed at the response from our students, parents, and faculty, as over 500 students are parents watched last week.

Below is a note from Crew Team Captain, Andrew Lucas, to the rest of his squad after tuning to the first webinar.

Hey Gents, In case you didn't get a chance to hop on the webinar about leadership, I took notes so everyone could have it. Next Tuesday at 4 will be the next webinar, and I highly encourage everyone to join, as it not only enriches leadership skills but life skills also.

Leadership is a PROCESS (Journey) of SOCIAL INFLUENCE (you don't have to have a title to lead) which MAXIMIZES THE EFFORTS OF OTHERS and works towards a common GOAL.Character and Competence -These are the fundamental and basic aspects of leadership.Communication and Accountability -These are the next steps and help you become an effective leader.

Emotional IQ -This is the skill that makes leadership transformative. How Can You Lead Now?-Lead Others-Elderly-Little Kids-Friends without siblings-Students with not so many friends-Lead Yourself-Establish a routine-Have a goal-Social Media Audit-Nourish your SELF (mind, body, soul)-Use adversity as an opportunity!-Look at the hand you've been dealt and deal with it accordingly- Discipline is remembering what you want to do.There are so many good points made in here.

I especially think at this time, leading yourself is one of the most crucial things you can do. How do you spend each day? Do you take advantage of the time you had today? "You can wallow at home and spend time not being productive, but times like these separate those who are mentally disciplined and those who aren't." Mr. Price said that picking up a new hobby or something that interests you is one a great way to grow, or even getting better at an existing one. Ask yourself this question at the end of everyday: "Did I grow today?"If anybody needs any help staying motivated or if you have an idea on how to stay connected
with the team, reach out to either a captain or Coach Rich, Coach Fern, or Coach Ed. This season is far from over and I say we keep training and getting better everyday.

Thanks, Andrew Lucas
