Admissions Exams

Due to overwhelming interest, Seton Hall Preparatory School is proud to offer its "last chance" entrance examination on Wednesday, December 27 at 9:00 am!  Should you wish to learn more about this FINAL opportunity to be considered for a place in the Seton Hall Prep incoming Class of 2028, please complete your application for admission today, select "December 27" as your test date, and contact the Admission Office as soon as possible! 

The Seton Hall Prep Entrance Examination is a required element of The Seton Hall Prep Application Process. The test is offered on Saturday mornings in November and December and includes grammar, parts of speech, reading comprehension, sentence structure, essay writing and general math.

Testing for the incoming Class of 2028 will take place on:

  • November 11 (9:00 am)
  • November 18 (9:00 am)
  • December 2    (9:00 am)
  • December 9  (9:00 am)
  • December 27 (9:00 am)

While students sit for the two-hour exam, families are welcome to stay with us and tour the school, ask questions, and learn more about the admission process, available financial aid and scholarship, transportation, and various other aspects of a Seton Hall Prep Education.  To register for our admission examination, please complete our online application.

Important Note for Students Taking a Diocesan Co-op Exam

An applicant is selected for admission based upon his cumulative academic record and his scores on the Seton Hall Preparatory School Entrance Examination. 

If a student takes the Catholic School CO-OP Exam (HSPT) in November and wishes to apply to Seton Hall Prep, he still must sit for the Seton Hall Preparatory School Entrance Examination. The Catholic School CO-OP Exam (HSPT) will not be used as a criterion for admission to Seton Hall Prep. Additionally, be aware that Seton Hall Prep is not listed on the CO-OP Exam as one of the three possible school choices that receives the student's academic records.

Students interested in applying to Seton Hall Prep MUST use the Seton Hall Prep Transcript Release Form and have their eighth grade counselor complete and return it to the Seton Hall Prep Admission Office.
