Transfer Candidates

While students typically enter Seton Hall Prep in the ninth grade, we do occasionally accept outstanding transfer students into the tenth and eleventh grades. In order to be considered for admission as a transfer student, an applicant must:

  • Complete and the online Seton Hall Preparatory School Transfer Application for Admission.  The Transfer Application will be available for completion beginning March 1st, 2022.  Applications for candidates for transfer to Seton Hall Prep will close on May 20, 2022.  Please note that applications for transfer for the 2022-2023 academic year are no longer being accepted.  If you are still interested in exploring a transfer to The Prep for September 2022 should any space become avaialable, please contact Assistant Director of Admission Mr. Peter Durning '06 directly.
  • At the conclusion of the third marking period, submit transcripts covering all previous high school coursework. In order to do this, complete the Transcript Release Form and forward it to the applicant's counselor at his current school so that he/she can submit the records to the Seton Hall Prep Admission Office.
  • Upon review of both application and grades, qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview with the Assistant Director of Admission, usually during the months of April and May.  Please note that not all applicants will be granted an interview.
  • All applicants for transfer are strongly encouraged to come for a full-day campus visit. To arrange your visit, please contact the Admission Office directly.
Please direct all transfer inquiries to Mr. Peter Durning '06, Assistant Director of Admission.  (973-325-7620)
