International Candidates

The Seton Hall Preparatory School International Program was established in 2013, welcoming students from around the world to experience a challenging and comprehensive academic program from NJ’s oldest prep school. SHP’s international students form a vital part of our diverse student body.

Seton Hall Prep offers an international advisor responsible for each student’s academic and social growth during their time at The Prep. While there are a number of activities and support structures specifically geared toward international students, they integrate themselves into the larger community through their involvement in many of the school’s academic, athletic and service programs.

  • Admission Process

In order to be admitted as an International Student to Seton Hall Prep, the applicant must:

    1. Complete and submit the Seton Hall Prep International Application for Admission along with the $100 application fee.
    2. Submit formal school transcripts for both the current year and the previous two years. In order to do this, complete the Transcript Release Form and return it to the applicant's current school so that they can forward his records to Seton Hall Prep.
    3. Participate in an interview (either in person or through video conference) with the Director of Admission and Director of the International Program and submit a writing sample which will be provided after successful completion of the interview.
    4. Demonstrate English proficiency by means of TOEFL results (80 minimum score).

The Prep's Admission Office welcomes letters of recommendation for applicants, but they are NOT a required element of the SHP application process. Decisions for International Candidates are made on a rolling basis.

While Seton Hall Prep does not work exclusively with any student placement agencies, we do require all international student who are not living with immediate family members to be represented by an agency. We will be happy to assist you with this once we begin the process for admission.
