Seton Hall Prep is New Jersey’s oldest Catholic college preparatory school. The Prep's tradition is matched by its commitment to the education of young men by teaching them to think critically, communicate effectively and become contributing members of society.
At Seton Hall Prep, students participate in many of the amazing offerings available to them outside of the classroom. This includes 15 sports, more than 70 activities and clubs, a variety of intramurals and a seemingly endless number of service projects.
“To equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the extent of the full stature of Christ.”
The 230 members of the Class of 2025 came on board yesterday at their Orientation Day. Led by the 32 senior Peer Leaders, the new freshman class gathered in small groups, spending several hours beginning to learn the ropes for a successful first year at The Prep. High on the agenda of the Peer Leaders was raising the comfort level among their freshman charges, who came from more than 100 middle schools, large and small, spread among more than 70 towns, both near and far. Ice breaking games helped learn names quickly and smooth the way for easy conversation. Other important activities included logging on to the school network, checking out class schedules and the best routes to the classrooms, getting school shirts and photos taken, and tackling the devilish task of dealing with a combination lock. As the frosh kicked off their day, their parents met in the auditorium for their own orientation, where they heard from members of the Prep administration about what lies ahead for both them and their sons.
