One particular thank-you email to Prep Service Learning Director Vinnie McMahon sums up the contribution of the seniors on their Day of Service. [From Lori Flynn, Director of Pastoral Care of the Paterson Diocese:] “Lately, Barnet House, which houses 6 severely disabled residents, has experienced a shortage of staff, leaving the huge house in need of a major spring cleaning…To my surprise, bright and early this morning, eleven eager, beautiful young angels walked into Barnet House, anxious to do whatever was asked… from scrubbing bathrooms, to cleaning the kitchen, and vacuuming,, even yard work… The house was sparking and smelling fantastic within a few hours. These young men were super polite and kind. They worked incredibly hard at cleaning things, smiling as they scrubbed away. They interacted with the residents in the sweetest of ways. It was an absolutely beautiful day, I was brought to tears watching these young men give of their time and talent to the disabled. Please let everyone at Seton Hall Prep know that you all should be very proud of the awesome gentlemen that you are helping to create at Seton Hall Prep.
