Seton Hall Prep is New Jersey’s oldest Catholic college preparatory school. The Prep's tradition is matched by its commitment to the education of young men by teaching them to think critically, communicate effectively and become contributing members of society.
At Seton Hall Prep, students participate in many of the amazing offerings available to them outside of the classroom. This includes 15 sports, more than 70 activities and clubs, a variety of intramurals and a seemingly endless number of service projects.
Educating the whole man includes teaching a true understanding of the importance of service and actually participating in the service of others in need.
On Saturday April 25, with the Fathers Club Treasure Auction having been cancelled due to the covid-19 health crisis, SHP President Msgr. Michael Kelly and a few members of the Prep and Fathers Club gathered (with appropriate social distancing) to fulfill the letter of the law by picking the winning raffle ticket in the drawing for a 2020 Audi Q3...
Although the virus outbreak at the beginning of March precluded reaching the usual goal of 999 tickets, hard work by the FC Auction and Raffle committees still resulted in nearly 725 entries in the raffle. Msgr. Kelly and Headmaster Michael Gallo drew the winning ticket at 1pm on Saturday; it belonged to Marie Greenberg of Montvale, NJ, mother of 2017 Prep graduate Steven Goldberg. The event was streamed live on Facebook; witnesses included Athletic Director and FC Adviser Larry Baggitt, Auction Chairman Emeritus Vinnie D'Antonio '80, FC President Michael Monteleone CP '20, '22. The Car Raffle was Co-Chaired by Marcus Bleeker CP '23. Sadly, his Co-Chair, Lou Puopolo FP '05, the longtime chairman of the Car Raffle and recent recipient of the FC Thomas A. Reynolds Award, succumbed to the covid19 virus just a few weeks ago.
