Pirates Crowned State Soccer Champs, 1-0 Over St. Augustine in OT

After a scoreless battle in regulation, 34 seconds into the second overtime, Seba Niehenke sent a pass to Sal Vito, who served one into the box, where junior Lucas Ross headed it over St. Augustine goalkeeper Anthony Libero for the lone tally in the state final. The golden goal pushed Ross’s total to 25 this season and 46 for his career, and sealed the state title for the Pirates, their first since 2009.
