Seton Hall Prep is New Jersey’s oldest Catholic college preparatory school. The Prep's tradition is matched by its commitment to the education of young men by teaching them to think critically, communicate effectively and become contributing members of society.
At Seton Hall Prep, students participate in many of the amazing offerings available to them outside of the classroom. This includes 15 sports, more than 70 activities and clubs, a variety of intramurals and a seemingly endless number of service projects.
“To equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the extent of the full stature of Christ.”
Seton Hall Prep’s 2nd Annual World Cultures Festival brought the school community together in a vibrant celebration of global heritage in the school's dining hall on May 22.
With 11 cultural tables representing regions from across the globe—including African and Latin American cultures, Asian cultures such as China, Japan, and the Philippines, and European traditions like Irish and Italian—the event highlighted the rich diversity within The Prep community.
Each table was brought to life by student leaders from affinity groups, working side by side with Prep parents to create immersive and engaging cultural displays. Attendees were treated to a feast of international flavors, with food offerings as varied and flavorful as the cultures represented. Favorites included Haitian patties, ube brownies, Indian yogurt puffed rice chaat, and classic soul food staples like fried chicken and macaroni and cheese.
The event drew hundreds of students who moved from table to table, sampling dishes, learning about cultural traditions, and engaging with peers and families who proudly shared their backgrounds. A festive raffle added to the excitement, featuring prizes such as cultural books, a world map, a global snack gift basket, and a Seton Hall Prep store gift card.
Matching—and perhaps surpassing—the popularity of last year’s inaugural event, the World Cultures Festival has firmly established itself as a cherished Prep tradition. With its joyful energy, educational spirit, and delicious cuisine, the festival continues to foster inclusion, curiosity, and community pride at Seton Hall Prep.
