Seton Hall Prep is New Jersey’s oldest Catholic college preparatory school. The Prep's tradition is matched by its commitment to the education of young men by teaching them to think critically, communicate effectively and become contributing members of society.
At Seton Hall Prep, students participate in many of the amazing offerings available to them outside of the classroom. This includes 15 sports, more than 70 activities and clubs, a variety of intramurals and a seemingly endless number of service projects.
“To equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the extent of the full stature of Christ.”
Mothers Auxiliary Hosts Annual Welcome Mass & Brunch
Kathleen Magnier P'17, P'20, and P'22 was this year's honoree at the Mothers Auxiliary Welcome Mass and Brunch, which had 210 attendees including mothers, guardians, grandmothers of The Prep.
Kathleen, a devoted servant of her community and embodiment of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton's spirit, demonstrates unwavering commitment to serving others through her tireless work with the Good Vibes and Easy Living Foundation. She is mother to four SHP Grads - Thomas '17, Christopher '20, Matthew '20, and Michael '22. She is also the sister of Allison Tevlin and aunt to her children, including Brendan who was tragically killed in 2014.
For over a decade, she has been instrumental in organizing the annual Brendan Tevlin Lacrosse Festival, beginning preparations each January to culminate in August events that have raised a significant amount of funds for local charities and the Brendan P. Tevlin Memorial Field at SHP's Kelly Athletic Complex. Known for her selfless dedication and ability to foster meaningful relationships, Kathleen works behind the scenes to secure donors, sponsors, and volunteers, creating lasting memories while building community. Her deep faith, nurtured at St. Philomena's parish where she raised four SHP graduates—Thomas ('17), Christopher ('20), Matthew ('20), and Michael ('22)—guides her belief that even simple acts of kindness can bring light to someone's day. Kathleen's extraordinary commitment to creating loving environments both at home and in the community, combined with her embodiment of being "a woman built for others," makes her a worthy recipient of the Mother Elizabeth Ann Seton Award, exemplifying the virtues of faith, service, and compassion in all aspects of her life.
