SHP Welcomes New Board Members

Seton Hall Prep welcomes new Board of Trustee members Akinyemi T. Akiwowo '98 and Christopher D. Hall, CFC, Ed.D. this school year.

Akinyemi T. Akiwowo
is a 1998 graduate of Seton Hall Prep. He currently serves as an Executive Director in Morgan Stanley’s Global Litigation Group. There, Aki oversees the conduct of active domestic and international institutional (sales, trading, investment banking, capital markets, data privacy, private equity, and investment management) civil litigation, regulatory enforcement actions, and internal investigations.  His diverse experience includes defending the Firm in class action and antitrust litigation matters, as well as investigations by the Department of Justice, Commodities and Futures Trading Commission, and the Securities and Exchange Commission.  

On joining Seton Hall Prep's Board of Trustees, Akinyemi stated, "My four years at The Prep were transformational for me. I am honored to be serving as a Board member and look forward to working with Monsignor Kelly and the rest of the Board to further The Prep’s mission.”

Aki currently co-chairs Morgan Stanley’s Legal and Compliance Division Diversity and Inclusion Network, and is also a member of the Council of Urban Professionals Fellows Board.   

Prior to Morgan Stanley, Aki was Principal Counsel in the Department of Enforcement of the Financial Industry Regulatory Organization (FINRA) where he managed a complex case load, as lead counsel, handling all aspects of investigations of member firms and associated individuals for violations of FINRA, NASD and NYSE rules and federal securities laws.  Prior to FINRA Aki was in private practice in New Jersey, focusing on commercial and securities litigation.  

Aki is a 2002 graduate of Loyola University in Maryland and a 2005 graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law. 

He resides in Glen Ridge with his wife, JoAnne and their two children, Morayo and Yemi.   

Christopher D. Hall, CFC, Ed.D. currently serves as Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Schools as the Archdiocese of Newark. 

Hall has ministered exclusively in Catholic education both as a teacher and administrator for nearly 30 years. His commitment to Catholic education spans his years of formation as a Christian Brother, from teaching and coaching assignments to varied school leadership roles, including Dean of Students in Miami, Head of School in Harlem, and Vice President of Technology at Bergen Catholic High School. Most recently, he served as Vice President for Administration at Damien Memorial School in Honolulu County, Hawaii.  

Br. Hall earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and Master of Science in Educational Technology from Iona College, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the College of St. Elizabeth. He holds New York certifications in school administration and supervision and online teaching.

Br. Christopher Hall from the Archdiocese of Newark is replacing the retired John O’Neil on the Seton Hall Prep Board of Trustees.
