Seton Hall Prep is New Jersey’s oldest Catholic college preparatory school. The Prep's tradition is matched by its commitment to the education of young men by teaching them to think critically, communicate effectively and become contributing members of society.
At Seton Hall Prep, students participate in many of the amazing offerings available to them outside of the classroom. This includes 15 sports, more than 70 activities and clubs, a variety of intramurals and a seemingly endless number of service projects.
“To equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the extent of the full stature of Christ.”
As if the pandemic hadn’t piled up enough challenges over the past year, Saturday afternoon Seton Hall Prep flirted with a persistent drizzle, howling KAC winds and put-on-an-overcoat temps while celebrating the Prep's Class of 2021 Commencement, the 161st in the remarkable history of New Jersey's oldest Catholic college preparatory school. • In honoring the 235 members of the class, the school paid homage to the school's traditions, acknowledging dozens of Prep legacies, some of which trace back to the 1940s, and honoring the academic achievements of the current graduates. The nearly full house at the Kelly Athletic Complex were welcomed, first, by SHP President Msgr. Michael E. Kelly '57 and Headmaster Michael G. Gallo '79, and then by the Class Salutatorian Charles R. Williams. A trio of graduates were called forward to receive the school’s most cherished awards: The John J. Murray '59 Award honored Lucas J. Incardona for Embodiment of the The Prep’s Four Pillars; Gabriel B. Ferreiro received the the Vincent A. McIntee Award for Extraordinary Service to All Aspects of Seton Hall Prep Life; and Jordan A. Quiles received the Archbishop Thomas A. Boland Award as the Most Representative Setonian. • Kenneth Y. Huang delivered the Valedictory Address, followed by Chaplain Fr. Bogumil Misiuk ’08 delivering the Final Blessing, and induction of the graduates into the SHP Alumni Association by Headmaster Michael Gallo. [see the Commencement Program]
