35th Hall of Fame Inducts Former Stars

On October 16 Seton Hall Prep honored seven outstanding former athletes and a storied team with induction into the SHP Hall of Fame. With 200 friends and family looking on, Master of Ceremonies Jerry Barca ’95 introduced the school’s newest assemblage of illustrious competitors and contributors to The Prep’s renowned athletic program...

The honorees were: Mike Purzycki ’39, football (posthumous, represented by his son Mike Purzycki ’63, HoF ’11); Alfred Carolonza ’57, football; EJ Solimine ’01, hockey; Anthony Drejaj ’02, basketball; Patrick Blackie ’07, track; Clayron Parros ’09, track; Kevin Wilson ’09, swimming; the 1981 Football Team. • The assembled guests at Mayfair Farms last Wednesday evening also took the opportunity to say farewell to Headmaster Msgr. Robert Harahan, who would shortly leave for his newly assigned post at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Short Hills; to welcome incoming headmaster, Michael Gallo ’79; and to sing Happy Birthday to President Msgr. Michael Kelly ’57, who would be celebrating his 80^th birthday in a week.
