Michael G. Gallo '79 Reappointed as Headmaster for a Six-Year Term

Seton Hall Prep and President Msgr. Michael E. Kelly ’57 are proud to announce that Michael G. Gallo ’79 has been officially reappointed as Headmaster by Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., Archbishop of Newark, on behalf of the corporate members of Seton Hall Preparatory School, for a six-year term, effective October 18, 2026, through October 18, 2032.

“Michael has done an outstanding job of leading our institution throughout his tenure at The Prep, especially since becoming our first lay Headmaster in 2019,” commented President Msgr. Michael E. Kelly ’57. “With this reappointment, it is encouraging to see the Archdiocese and Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., affirm exactly what we value in Michael: that he has a superb grasp of every aspect of our school.”

On his reappointment, Gallo stated, “It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve as Headmaster at my beloved alma mater, and I am blessed to continue serving our school. I learned from the best role model in our current President, Msgr. Kelly, and have a tremendous team around me in Assistant Headmaster Mr. David Snyder ’89, Dean of Faculty Mrs. Lisa Sgaramella P’15 ’18, our entire group of administrators, and our faculty.”

Michael’s reappointment comes at an exciting time for Seton Hall Prep, as the school continues to build upon its storied history as New Jersey’s oldest Catholic prep school, while preparing for the future. With Gallo’s continued leadership, supported by a dedicated administrative team, faculty, and staff, The Prep remains committed to its mission of fostering the spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical growth of our students.
