Seton Hall Prep is New Jersey’s oldest Catholic college preparatory school. The Prep's tradition is matched by its commitment to the education of young men by teaching them to think critically, communicate effectively and become contributing members of society.
At Seton Hall Prep, students participate in many of the amazing offerings available to them outside of the classroom. This includes 15 sports, more than 70 activities and clubs, a variety of intramurals and a seemingly endless number of service projects.
“To equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the extent of the full stature of Christ.”
We are proud to celebrate the retirement of Ken Blaha '69, a devoted member of The Prep community for more than five decades.
We were proud to celebrate the retirement of Ken Blaha '69, a devoted member of The Prep community for more than five decades, at basketball's home playoff game on March 2nd.
For the past 55 years, Seton Hall Prep has been truly blessed to have Ken as a faithful and dedicated servant to our student-athletes and athletic programs. His passion, loyalty, and steady presence have left a lasting impact on generations of Pirates. In recognition of his outstanding dedication and service, Ken was inducted into The Prep’s Hall of Fame in 1991.
Ken and his wife, Kathy (Washington) Blaha will celebrate their 39th wedding anniversary this October. Together, they are the proud parents of two daughters: Maggie, an independent marketing consultant and writer living in Barcelona, Spain, and Katie, a nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Chicago.
Seton Hall Prep has long been a part of Ken’s family legacy. His brother Steve, his father Les, and his uncles Ron and Ed are also proud Prep graduates, making his commitment to the school all the more meaningful.
Although Ken is retiring from basketball, he will continue to lend his time and talents to Prep athletics. Since 2016, he has faithfully served as scorekeeper and pitch counter operator for our baseball program and plans to remain a familiar face at Porcello Field.
Thank you, Ken, for your extraordinary dedication and service over the past six decades. Your commitment to Seton Hall Prep will always be appreciated and remembered. HZF!
