Pirates Swimmers End the Season with a Bang

The Pirates Swim Team finished off the 2020 campaign in spectacular fashion at the season-ending Meet of Champions on March 1. • Junior Jaeden Ybruan’s 3rd place finish in the 200 IM (1:51.99) set a school record, breaking his own mark set earlier this year, when he smashed the oldest record on the SHP books, set in 1984 by Olympian Ron Karnaugh (1:55.12). He also broke his own school record with his 50.51 in the 100 Backstroke, taking 3rd place....
 • The 400 Freestyle Relay took 4th with another school record- Jack Devilbiss, Matthew Prior, Michael Pietrucha, Jaeden Yburan, 3:11.76, breaking the mark of the 2014-15 team of Jack Pietrucha, Connor Mailley, Colby Dixon, Justin Dunn at 3:12.89. • The 200 Medley Relay took 6th place - Jaeden Yburan, Michael Pietrucha, Dylan Negron, Jack Devilbiss, 1:36.90.  
    Regular Season Dual Meet Record - 12-2 • Essex County and Super Essex Conference Champions; NJISAA Non-Public A Semifinalists. • Essex County/ Super Essex Conference Medalists: First Place: 200 Medley Relay - Jaeden Yburan, Connor Townson, Joaquin Quezada, Michael Pietrucha • 200 Freestyle - Matthew Prior • 100 Butterfly - Jaeden Yburan • 100 Freestyle - Michael Pietrucha • 500 Freestyle - Matthew Prior • 200 Freestyle Relay - Jack Devilbiss, Dylan Negron, Matthew Prior, Michael Pietrucha • 100 Backstroke - Jaeden Yburan • 400 Freestyle Relay - Dylan Negron, Jack Devilbiss, Matthew Prior, Jaeden Yburan. Second Place- 200 IM - Connor Townson. Third Place- 100 Breaststroke - Connor Townson. • Jaeden Yburan set new Essex County, SEC and SHP records in the 100 Backstroke (50.59) and also broke the SHP school record in the 200 IM with his 1:54.26.
