Entrance/Placement/Scholarship Exam

The Seton Hall Prep Entrance/Placement/Scholarship Exam is a required element of The Seton Hall Prep Application Process.  The Exam is offered four times on Saturday mornings in the fall and winter, and includes grammar, parts of speech, reading comprehension, sentence structure, essay writing and general math.  The tests will take place on November 5th, November 19th, December 3rd, and December 17th.

Simply complete our Application for Admission and select which of the four available test dates works best for you.

While students sit for the two-hour exam, families are welcome to stay with us and tour the school, ask questions, and learn more about the admission process, available financial aid and scholarship, transportation, and various other aspects of a Seton Hall Prep Education.  To register for our Admission Exam, one must either download and complete our Application for Admission OR request a packet by completing our on-line Inquiry Form and an Application for Admission will be sent home to you within a week's time.

Important Note for students taking a Diocesan CO-OP Exam:

An applicant is selected for admission based upon his academic record and his scores on the Seton Hall Prep Entrance/Placement/Scholarship Test. If a student takes the Catholic School CO-OP Exam for his Diocese in November, and wishes to apply to Seton Hall Prep, he still must sit for the Seton Hall Prep Entrance/Placement Scholarship Exam.  The Catholic School CO-OP Exam will not be used as a criterion for admission to Seton Hall Prep. Additionally, be aware that Seton Hall Prep is not listed on the CO-OP Exam as one of the three possible school choices that receives the student's academic records. Students interested in applying to Seton Hall Prep MUST use the Seton Hall Prep Transcript Release Form and have their eighth grade counselor fill it out and return it to Seton Hall Prep's Admission Office.
