2011 Baccalaureate and Commencement Cap a Year of Great Achievement

Seton Hall Prep's 151st Commencement Exercises took place on June 5 at the Richard J. Codey Arena at South Mountain in West Orange. The 215 graduates and members of the Golden Anniversary Class of 1961 were surrounded by over 1600 family members and friends as Headmaster Msgr. Michael E. Kelly led the ceremony, steeped in tradition and decorum.

Salutatorian Colin E. Orr greeted the assembly, followed by Director of Alumni Relations Richard Koles '69, who introduced the attending members of the Class of 1961. Msgr. Kelly presented the Msgr. Thomas G. Fahy Award as Alumnus of the Year to Joseph W. Walsh '61; the latter's classmate, Rev William P. Hanrahan, retired Chaplain Colonel in the US Air Force, delivered the Address to the Graduates.

Director of College Placement Frank Tuohy presented the school's most cherished awards to a pair of seniors. The Vincent A. McIntee Award for Extraordinary Service to Seton Hall Prep was presented to Gregory Beauzil, and the Archbishop Thomas A. Boland Award, Most Representative Setonian Award was presented to Michael P. Kane.

Valedictorian James P. McGlone delivered his address to the gathering, and was followed by his 214 classmates as they were presented with their diplomas.
