DUE TO GRADUATION AND CHANGING ADDRESSES, it is necessary to refresh our list each year...
REGISTER FOR EMERGENCY / CRISIS NOTIFICATION AND/OR WEEKLY UPDATES
Nowadays it is recognized as incumbent upon a school that it be able to reach families with emergency information in a timely fashion. This includes the sudden need for school closings, notification of police or governmental activity in or around the school, or for the school’s practice for such eventualities. Please help us in this endeavor by giving us the necessary information to help us “push” these notifications to the e-mail addresses you may use.
We are also exploring the use of a “Reverse 911” phone system, by which such emergency information would be sent to designated telephone numbers. Implementation of this system is some distance off in the future, but we are asking for the information now so as not to have to bother you later.
For the past five years we have offered a weekly e-mail “newsletter” comprising the latest information posted on the school’s website, called THE LATEST. Currently 1200 families receive Sunday broadcasts of links to the most recent posts on www.shp.org. Subscription has up to now been accomplished by filling out a paper form. If desired, you may check off the appropriate box below to indicate that the e-mail addresses for EMERGENCY notification may also be used for THE LATEST. Otherwise, we will use the addresses you supply for only the most important EMERGENCY announcements.
If you ever change your EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION email address, PLEASE RE-REGISTER HERE WITH THE NEW ONE.
After our first test of this system, more than 100 addresses (of the 1000 total) were bounced back, many for bad spelling (aol.cm instead of “com”; comcast.nt, instead of “net”, etc.) or blocked by company policies. Please take care with the spelling of your address and service provider, and make sure that your company policies allow email fromn shp.org to be delivered to you.
