06.06.04 Seton Hall Prep, amidst much tradition and decorum, graduated the Class of 2004 in the 144th Commencement Exercises in the school's long history. The scene
played out before a crowd of 2000 at Seton Hall University's Archbishop Walsh Auditorium. The preceding night a similarly large gathering at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark participated
in the Prep's Baccalaureate Mass and Awards Ceremony.
[48 slides] 1-11... Mass preparations, Mass, [12] Terrence Robinson and Jack Decker received the Msgr. William Daly Award, to the Outstanding
Athletes in the Senior Class; [13] Noel Mariyampillai received the medallion for the Valedictorian of the class. [14-25] Commencement preparations in the Recreation Center; the procession, including
pipers, Board Members John Murray '59 and Richard Merklinger '65, Alumnus of the Year Mike Sheppard '57; The Ceremony... SC President Chris Bonnetti led the Pledge of Allegiance; Louis Panico sang the
National Anthem; Fr. Murphy delivered the Invocation; Mike Sheppard delivered a message to the graduates; [32] Tom Wester, Chris Tarney and Josh Markman received the Vincent McIntee Award for Outstanding
Service; [33,34] Michael Rolek was awarded the Archbishop Thomas Boland Award, Most Representative Setonian; [35] Noel Mariyampillai delivered the Valedictory Address; [41] Louis Panico and James Prior led
the Alma Mater; [42-48] Post-Ceremony celebrations. |

The Class of 1954 returned to the Prep to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of their own
commencement, in conjunction with the Class of '04's graduation. The weekend's activities included an Anniversary Mass, at the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception on the SHU Campus, a dinner in the SHU
Student Center and participation in Sunday's Commencement Excercises. One of their own, Michael J. Sheppard, Sr., was honored as Alumnus of the Year and delivered an address to the graduates. |

Seton Hall Prep presented its annual Celebration of Excellence the day before the Memorial Day Weekend, first holding up for acclaim many from among its faculty and students who distinguished themselves
during the last year, and then spending the rest of the day in a festival of academic, musical and sporting events.<<< 1: The library was SRO for the faculty-student academic bowl. 2-

05.18.04With the seniors finished, and awaiting
graduation, the juniors made their move into the "power vacuum" with their Field Day. Competition among homerooms was fast and furious, the most spirited in memory, as the class made up for their Field Day
being cancelled last year due to bad weather. |
