THE 23rd HALL OF FAME   •   2007

October 17th brought together 380 Prep friends and alumi to celebrate the induction of 12 outstanding athletes, coaches and longstanding supporters of the school's renowned athletic program into the Hall of Fame. The event took place at Mayfair Farms in West Orange. Also inducted was the 1955 Football Team.

Selection is made by the Hall of Fame Committee, chaired by Class of '57 alumnus Marty Zittel.

THE 22nd HALL OF FAME   •   2006



On the evening of October 19th, nearly 400 alumni and friends of Seton Hall Prep gathered at Mayfair Farms in West Orange to celebrate the induction of eleven new honorees into the Seton Hall Prep Hall of Fame. The Induction Ceremony at the annual dinner   honors the contribution to Prep athletics of former players, coaches and supporters of Prep sports, as well as, most recently, outstanding teams from the school's storied athletic past.

Inducted along with the individuals (at left) was the The 1960-61 Basketball Team.

The 2005 group of inductees comprises Mike Holovak '39 [SHP football and baseball player; NFL player with LA Rams and Chicago Bears; coach of 1963 American Football League Boston Patriots], Jack O'Rourke '51 [retired history teacher and Hall of Fame emcee], John Tirpak '51 [Prep football and track and field standout], Bill Barrett '73 [champion 200 and 400 yard swimming freestyler], Frank Fitzgerald '74 [champion four-year varsity record-setting swimmer], Tom Hensler '76 [champion 148-pound wrestler], Mike Sheppard, Jr. '77 [All-State shortstop, nationally recognized coach], Rick Blumette '78 [All-State nose-guard for the 1976 state champion football team and the 1977 team which recorded 10 shutouts; District 10 188-pound champion], Mike Guidice '83 [football, wrestling and baseball standout], Mark Kenah '92 [cross-country, basketball and track standout, Most Representative Setonian], Brandin Knight '99 [All-State guard and team leader of the championship basketball teams of 1997 to 1999], Larry Baggitt [current Prep Athletic Trainer] and the 1973-74 Wrestling Team.
