an invitation from SHP 1999 Alumni Justin Kiszek and Greg Walsh, Co-Founders Got game? Prove it on June 12!
Heaven's Playground - New Jersey's premier 3-on-3 charity basketball tournament
- is making headlines this year with two unique events. Started by Justin Kiczek '99 (current Assistant Dean of Men)
and Greg Walsh '99 during their senior year at SHP, Heaven's Playground has grown from a backyard gathering to one of New Jersey's biggest amateur basketball events. In six years of existence, we have not
only gathered together old friends and alumni from the Prep, but most importantly, we've raised over $7,000 for charities. This year, the tournament is making it's grand return to the Prep with its
first high-school-only event!
On June 12, 32 teams will be fighting for bragging rights at this special event benefitting the Griffin-Bridges Program and Operation Smile. Prep students are encouraged to show their
stuff against high-schoolers from all over the state as each team battles for the #1 spot. Students are encouraged to sign up for the tournament in the Dean of Men's office or simply register
online at www.heavensplayground.org. Registration is $15.00 per student before May 21; $20.00 thereafter. You must sign up a mininum of 3 players or a maximum of 4. Again, all proceeds of the
tournament will benefit the Griffin-Bridges Program and Operation Smile. And as if one tournament wasn't enough, the original Heaven's Playground Open Tournament will be
held on June 26, 2004 at Hoop Heaven in East Hanover, NJ. With a maximum of 64 teamshis will undoubtedly be the biggest and best tournament to date. Come battle against some of NJ's best amateur
talent in our SIXTH tournament to date! All proceeds will go to the Children's Specialized Hospital, a
wonderful charity based in Mountainside, NJ. Discounted registration is available for signing up for both tournament at once!
Can't play but want to help? Whether it be through volunteering your time or making a tax-deductible donation, Heaven's Playground is always looking for help! Simply visit our website, www.heavensplayground.org, for more information on our history and mission. Sign up or make your donation today! Honoring Brett Bailey '91

"We have started a foundation in Brett's name (The Brett T. Bailey Foundation)
. I, along with several of Brett's friends and family members are running a fundraiser that BRett would tryly be proud of - he was an avid
sport fisherman and fished with me on a regular basis. On June 28-29 we will have the First Annual Brett T. Bailey Mako Rodeo to be held in Brielle, NJ. Check the link to our website for detailed information and entry form." |
