THOMAS PATRICK KNOX '87 SCHOLARSHIP FUND

On December 4, family and friends of Tom Knox '87, who died in the attacks of September 11, 2001, hosted the inaugural public event kicking off the Thomas Patrick Knox Scholarship Fund. The reception at Jersey City's Liberty House Restaurant provided a chance for hundreds of Knox family, Seton Hall Prep and Cantor Fitzgerald friends and alumni to support the Knox Scholarship Foundation, and to meet the first two recipients, Prep junior Luis Fernandez and senior Andrew Sharkey.

The spectacular outpouring of support in the first event the Foundation has run, resulted in more than $30,000 being collected for the fund.

11.27.03  TURKEY TROT

• Begun about six years ago with a handful of die-hard runners looking to provide a little caloric basis for the holiday season, the Turkey Trot has become a Thanksgiving Day ritual for now upwards of 150 participants. Fr. Joseph Reilly '83, with Fr. Ed Bradley celebrated Mass to begin the morning's activities. There followed the 5K run/walk/trot/stroll through the Kelly Athletic Complex cross-country course, wrapping up with bagels and Gatorade, all on the most beautiful day yet for this great community activity.

1- Matt Byer '04 called the runners to their marks. 2- The participants.   3- Mike Rolek '04, Coach Steve Theobald and Jim Placa.  4- Kevin Murphy, Justin Kisczek, Mike Gallo and Jim Badolato.   5- Christie and John Castano and Jim Badolato.  6- Fr. 01.09.03 YOUNG ALUMNI DAY

• Early January annually provides a perfect opportunity for recent graduates, still home from their [seemingly never-ending] college Christmas vacations to re-convene at the Prep to renew acquaintances with their classmates and teachers. 2003 was no different, as nearly 60 recently-minted alumni "came home" for a couple of hours of good cheer and "catching up."
